The New Toyota Prius Coming In 2011

Thursday, December 1, 2011

The upcoming 2011 Toyota Prius has not changed much from its predecessor, the 2010 Prius. It still has solar power ventilation and a fuel economy rating of 50 miles per gallon which makes it one of the top cars in terms of fuel efficiency.

The appearance of the 2011 Prius remains almost the same. It still has the look of a compact car on its outside styling. But on the inside it is very spacious and can comfortably seat 5 passengers. It has a high ceiling which allows it to have larger doorways than the average car of its type. The optional leather-covered seats in front provide support for the lower back though its lumbar bolstering feature. This welcome feature makes them very comfortable for long distance trips. The rear seats are also very comfortable with adequate leg space. The gauges on the dashboard are different from the conventional cars, in the 2011 Prius they are placed right above the instrument panel.

The 2011 Prius is equipped with the Toyota Hybrid drive system. It is built with a gas 1.8-liter four cylinder gas engine. The 134 horsepower Prius gets its power from nickel-metal hydride batteries. The powertrain of the 2011 model remains the same as that of the 2010 model. This hybrid car is outfitted with sensors that automatically detect the need to use engine power or gas and electric propulsion at the same time. It aims to create a balance between fuel economy and acceleration. The upcoming model still has no plug-in capability. Still, the Toyota Prius is one of the most known hybrid cars all over the world.
